Why S.M.A.R.T isn’t enough

Here’s a short video we recorded back when the weather was better!

As most people will now be thinking about writing objectives for the year ahead, we thought now was a good time to post it.

When it comes to objectives, most people are aware of the need to make them S.M.A.R.T (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic & Timely), which is great as it gives people clarity and certainty about what it is they need to achieve.

But for us there are two things that should always be contained within objectives and sometimes S.M.A.R.T just doesn’t capture it.   What’s more, in our experience most objectives we’ve seen only contain one of these things, and yet you need both to truly assess and differentiate the performance of individuals.

Give the video a watch to find out what those two things are….

Til next time

Martin & Elizabeth
