The background / request

  • The client was seeking to develop the leadership capability and capacity of their Middle leader population, in order to create a truly distributive leadership model.

 

  • In addition to this and as a fundamental driver in raising classroom standards and pupil outcomes they were looking for some practical tools and techniques to make most effective use of the finite leadership time available

What we did

The results

  • The school was rated ‘excellent’ when inspected by ESTYN January 2013 with Middle Leader development cited as outstanding

 

  • Estyn produced a best practice case study which highlighted our work in St Joseph’s Middle Leader development programme and the direct correlation to increased levels of pupil attainment

 

  • tendevelopment were asked to  work in partnership with the EAS (Education Advisory Service) to develop a school to school leadership development plan for 240 schools in South Wales

 

  •  St Joseph’s now act as a centre of excellence re middle leader development & mentor a group of feeder schools in Newport and other secondary schools  in South Wales

 

  • tendevelopment were highly recommended by St Joseph’s  and have run middle leadership development programmes in Monmouthshire and Cardiff
